A cave-dwelling bear from the Carpathian Mountain caves near Brasso, Romania, (URSUS SPELAEUS). This bear while standing on its hind legs would have averaged 10 Feet tall and was 30 percent larger overall than today’s Brown Bear. The Romanian cave bear is larger than the Russian bear Ursus uralensis (which is a cave hibernating bear not a cave dwelling bear). This species lived approx 100,000 Years Ago During The Last Ice Age.
